Mayfield Creative is a visual communications studio located in Wellington, Florida, providing a range of creative services including signage, image identity, print collateral, advertising, illustration and web design.

In 2002, Mayfield Creative was founded by Todd Mayfield and his wife, Marilyn. The studio began as a support service for design firms, agencies and architects. Currently, we have loyal clientele from Seattle to Boston.

The structure of the office is based on a virtual dynamic linking talented professionals though telecommunications. This successful experiment as a virtual office reduces operating costs and helps us to operate very efficiently allowing us to keep our fees very competitive.


Company

Todd Mayfield

Todd Mayfield is the creative conscience of the studio. He is responsible for 80% of the design activity. Todd has a diverse and accomplished history in the visual communications industry.
He specializes in brand identity, print collateral, signage, illustration, display advertising and website design.

Prior to opening his own studio, Todd was the Design Director for the Douglas Group in Washington DC where he was involved in graphic design, environmental graphics and interpretive displays for museums and exhibits.

He provided print graphics, In-store promotions and architectural signage for Ambrosi and Associates in Chicago for 3 years prior to moving to Washington DC.

In Hawaii, Mr. Mayfield was the department manager and senior designer for Media Five, Ltd. specializing in print and signage for the hospitality industry.

Todd graduated from the University of Hawaii in 1977 with a BFA in Design.

His broad talent and passion for excellence has earned Mr. Mayfield numerous design awards and profound respect among his clients and constituents.

 

Marilyn Mayfield

Marilyn Mayfield is a principal and co-founder of Mayfield Creative. She serves as the financial
conscience of the company in charge of accounts payable and receivable. She maintains internal
office procedures and assists as proofreader on all sensitive documentation.

For 8 years she served as accounting manager for Sony Music in New York where she interfaced
with venders, talent and upper management.

In Atlanta she was an accountant for Coca-Cola’s
legal department in the Atlanta Office Complex.

19 years ago, Marilyn migrated to the U.S. from Guyana and settled in New York. She enrolled at
NYU where she earned a degree in applied science.

 

Alex Freeman

Alex Freeman serves as a project manager and production coordinator for most of the west coast projects involving environmental graphics.

Alex has 12 years of experience in the design and production of exhibit graphics and event signage and 6 years hands-on experience in architectural signage fabrication.

Alex advises on production and code related details on all signage projects and frequently serves as a second pair of eyes when reviewing fabricator’s shop drawings.

He earned dual degrees in architecture and industrial design from Western State College in Colorado.

 

John Maestas

John Maestas provides design support, illustration and print production.

He has a thorough working knowledge of off-set and large format printing, silk screening and embroidery.

He received a first place award for his t-shirt design submission to Karmaloop.com and a painting entry for The SledgeHammer Exhibit in San Diego, California.

He earned a B.F.A. in Art with a concentration of Graphic Design from Colorado State University.

 

Adam Bundy

Adam Bundy provides direction for the development of all interactive projects including web sites.

Adam has a strong background in graphic design and interactive development including HTML, Flash, CSS, Javascript, and Content Management. He has completed numerous web site projects for a client list including Furniture Row Family of Companies, Centura Health, Fischer Medical, and Valley Bank & Trust, as well as some of the nation's premier interactive agencies.

Mr. Bundy's experience covers a range from retail and consumer goods to financial services, with particulary strong expertise in health care.

Adam holds a Degree in Fine Arts with focus on Graphic Design from Colorado State University, from which he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He resides in suburban Denver and enjoys all types of outdoor activities in the Rocky Mountains.

Mayfield Creative excels is the creation of image identity and branding. We understand how crucial it is to have image recognition and, more importantly, how to communicate an appropriate message through the design of a memorable logo and its associated graphic components.

We possess the unique ability to interpret 2D graphics into a 3D form known as Environmental Graphic Design or, more commonly, signage and wayfinding,

Based on architectural standards, we have developed a methodical process for efficient project management and successful sign design.

Our Environmental Graphic Design services include project assessment and planning, conceptualization, design development, design intent preparation, bid management, and production supervision.

We produce all types of interactive experiences that work seamlessly within an integrated branding and promotion program to reinforce your brand's message. Interactive products include: website design, interactive presentations, custom application development, database programming, email campaigns, search engine optimization, online strategies, banner ads, and ecommerce stores. Illustration

A wide variety of illustrative styles and techniques are offered by Mayfield Creative. We provide both digital and conventional methods.

Caricature, 3D modeling, fly-though animations and hand rendered perspectives are also available.

Identity



Market Place Mall

Designed for General Growth Properties in conjunction with Ambrosi and Associates in Chicago, an identity was developed for Market Place Mall as part of a complete renovation and rebranding.


Willow Creek Restaurant

Ritz-Carlton’s Aspen Highlands Resort in Colorado owns and operates an exclusive restaurant as part their resort property. An identity was developed and applied to signage, printed collateral and display advertising.


Island Port Purveyors

An exporter based in the Caribbean, Island Port Purveyors recently opened up an internet-based retail store featuring many of their exported products. A new identity was developed to be applied to their website and printed collateral.


Zocalo Cocina Mexicana

Along with their sister restaurant, Andale in Boston, Zocolo Cocina Mexicana renamed their store (formally Ole Mexican Cantina) and wanted to develop a new contemporary identity. The new mark was used in printed collateral, signage and a website.


Dole Cannery Square

Castle & Cooke, Inc. converted the Dole Pineapple cannery in Hawaii into a tourist attraction that included retail stores, a historical exhibit, guided cannery tours and a multimedia show. A logo was designed to represent the cannery as well as a new parking structure across the street.

Designed in conjunction with Richard Reese Design in Hawaii.


Daidalos Group

Located in Atlanta, Georgia, Daidalos Group wanted a logo to represent their services as fine home builders and retail developers.


Globalville Mall

A new concept in internet retailing, Globalville Mall is a virtual mall where retailers can rent space and post their e-commerce goods. An identity was developed to represent their website and other electronic media.

Clark & Associates

With their primary offices in Atlanta, Georgia, Clark & Associates wanted to enhance their identity with a new logo and printed collateral.
A brochure, business cards and qualifications document was designed to achieve their marketing goals.


Hansgrohe

Designed in conjunction with Steele Plus in Alpharetta, Georgia, brochures, product sheets, post cards, ads and other promotional items were developed to announce their American debut of fine kitchen and bathroom fixtures.


Hanson Brick

Designed in conjunction with Steele Plus in Alpharetta, Georgia, a brochure was developed to promote a new brick product. Photo retouching was also part of the assignment.


Qualcomm

Each year, Qualcomm in San Diego, hosts a developer’s conference. Themed conference graphics were developed and applied to welcome and wayfinding signage, audience acquisition mailers, brochures and conference programs.

Designed in conjunction with Nth Degree in Stone Mountain, Georgia.


Nth Degree

To promote their annual users conference, Nth Degree wanted a mailing campaign developed to increase attendance. A series of postcards were designed featuring their trademarked marketing method called the “N Factor”. Business cards were also updated to reflect a new branding strategy.


SGI

As part of a promotional campaign and audience acquisition efforts, Silicon Graphics, Inc. wanted a series of mailers developed to feature current branding for their Mobile Truck Tour exhibit.

Africa Challenge

An annual fundraiser for aid victims in Africa, the Africa Challenge Bike Tour in Washington DC wanted a new identity and promotional poster developed to increase public awareness and draw sponsors and event participants.

Hansgrohe

Designed in conjunction with Steele Plus in Alpharetta, Georgia, ads and other promotional items were developed to announce Hansgrohe’s American debut of fine kitchen and bathroom fixtures.


Hanson Brick

Designed in conjunction with Steele Plus in Alpharetta, Georgia, print ads were developed to promote a new brick product and support a conference sponsorship. Photo enhancement was a part of the conference ad assignment.


Greased Lightning

Designed in conjunction with Steele Plus in Alpharetta, Georgia, full page ads were developed to promote a family or products offered by Greased Lightning.


Nth Degree

A series of ads were developed to promote Nth Degree’s event marketing and exhibit labor services.


SGI

As part of a promotional campaign and audience acquisition efforts for their Mobile Truck Tour exhibit, ads and promotional posters were developed for Silicon Graphics, Inc.

Denver Zoo

Designed for ECOS Communications, in Boulder, Colorado, large poster ads were developed to promote patron membership for the Denver Zoo.


Horizon Software International

To promote their new OneSource food management software package, Horizon Software wanted to develop an ad campaign that would be featured in a number of trade publications.

US Botanic Garden

Located adjacent to the US Capitol campus, the US Botanic Garden underwent a complete renovation. The graphic component of the project included monument and building identities, exterior and interior pedestrian wayfinding signs, exhibit identities and interpretive graphics. Designed in conjunction with The Douglas Group in Washington DC.


Denver Zoo

Designed for ECOS Communications, in Boulder, Colorado, new signage for the Denver Zoo included entrance identities, pedestrian wayfinding and exhibit identities.


Rockville, Maryland

Exterior identity and wayfinding signage was developed for the City of Rockville, Maryland. The project included perimeter identities, vehicular and pedestrian wayfinding and event banners. Designed in conjunction with The Douglas Group in Washington DC.


Swarthmore College

Surrounded by manicured grounds, Swarthmore College, near Pittsburg, Pennsylvania included architecture that was build in the Shaker style. Exterior wayfinding signage was developed to complement the historical environment and to delineate a new ADA path system. Designed in conjunction with The Douglas Group in Washington DC.


Sheridan Hotels

The Royal Hawaiian Hotel is one of two original hotels built in Hawaii at the turn of the century. A complete renovation required a new sign system that complemented the hotel’s historical ambiance while meeting contemporary building, fire and accessibility codes. Designed in conjunction with Richard Reese Design in Hawaii.


Sears

Sears opened a new store in Panama that required grand opening event signage to mark the occasion. Also, a kiosk was designed to aid in Sear’s in-store ordering from their catalog of home furnishing. Designed in conjunction with Ambrosi and Associates in Chicago.


Walgreens

Every October, Walgreens features a back-to-school event that requires themed point-of-sale graphics. A “Cool for School” theme was developed and applied to hanging signage, static clings, floor decals, blade signs and price cards. Designed in conjunction with Ambrosi and Associates in Chicago.

Farrington Design Group

Farrington Design Group's existing website needed to be completely revamped, adding additional function and new project examples. This Flash site required a secondary HTML version for visitors with slower connections or without the Flash Player. The project included concept, photo retouching, Flash development, programming and implementation.


 

Denver Mattress Company

An exporter based in the Caribbean, Island Port Purveyors recently opened up an internet-based retail outlet featuring many of their exported products. A design template along with a new identity was developed and turned over to a third party developer for implementation.


SGI

Silicon Graphics in Southern California developed a mobile truck exhibit that is touring the United States. A website was developed as a link to their corporate site to contain exhibit images, registration information and itinerary calendar. Designed in conjunction with Nth Degree in Stone Mountain, Georgia.

 

3Citsym Records

A nationally renowned R&B and hip hop recording label came to us to design a cutting edge online presence. We designed and developed an ultra-hip, dynamic Flash web site complete with MP3 player, and artist track downloads. A custom Content Management System allows 3Citsym to upload new tracks, edit artist biographical information and update selected images on the site daily.


Andale and Zocalo Cocina Mexicana

Andale and Zocolo restaurants rebranded their stores and wanted to reflect the new look into their website. A new template was developed for their in-house web developer for final programming and implementation.


The Architects' Studio

This Colorado firm sought our services to create their first internet presence. The goals of the site centered around hilighting the capabilities and project portfolio of the firm within a simple, intuitive interface. The aesthetic direction taken was one of simple, grid-based order and utility.

 

The Hospice of Saint John

This Colorado Hospice secured the services of Mayfield to develop a site that was uniquely sensetive to the subject of end-of-life and the needs of the visitor. The resulting site is rich with information about the hospice and its services, and many resources for patients, families, and healthcare professionals. Sophisticated Flash elements project a highly professional, respectful image.

Sears

To promote one of Sears’ department sale events a series of icons were designed for in-store signage and television ads.


Nostalgic Publications

Art for a 2006 calendar featuring the major holidays of the year. The illustration was drawn in the style of Art Nouveau poster art.


Animal Illustration

Various styles including pen & ink and computer enhanced depicting wild and domestic animals.


Horizon Software International

For Horizon’s yearly users event and quarterly meeting, a theme and graphic were developed and applied to mouse pads, posters and t-shirts.


One Waterfront Plaza

A large multi-use property in Hawaii wanted culturally themed graphics as part of their sign program to be designed for their parking garage.


Ambrosi and Associates

A series of fun illustrations were developed for use in various marketing efforts.


Telluride Jazz Festival

A. Emulating Picasso, stylized art was developed to be used on promotional posters, t-shirts and television ads for the annual Telluride Jazz Festival in Colorado.
